ALDI Australia partners with Camp Quality to support kids impacted by cancer
ALDI Australia is proud to support Camp Quality through a three-year partnership, committing to $1.5 million in donations and on-going fundraising support for children impacted by cancer.
Camp Quality provides services and programs to help children aged 0-15 years of age who are dealing with cancer, whether it be their own diagnosis, or the diagnosis of someone they love, like a brother, sister, mum, dad or carer. Camp Quality’s much-loved programs include Kids’ camps, Family Camps and Fun Day and the Primary School Cancer Education Program performed by the much-loved Camp Quality Puppets. With the motto “laughter is the best medicine”, Camp Quality's mission is to ensure kids facing cancer have the chance to be kids again.
ALDI’s partnership also sees the retailer contribute to the charity with a yearly cash donation, employee volunteering programs and proceeds from products sales, which will raise awareness for Camp Quality among their customers.
In the first year of our partnership, we raised $1 million, enabling around 1,200 kids facing cancer to attend a Kid’s or Family Camp, where they will get a chance to just be kids again and create positive memories that change their cancer story.
Camp Quality’s mascot Giggle made the partnership official by going to meet ALDI Australia employees at the ALDI Darlinghurst store.
Supporting Camp In
Proudly supported by ALDI, Camp Quality’s Camp In is a fun, camping event, asking Aussies to sleep away from their beds, to fundraise and support kids facing cancer.
This year Campers were given front row access to Camp In Live, a jam packed evening of entertainment hosted by comedian Nazeem Hussain, featuring an ALDI Cooking Class by 2020 Junior Masterchef contestant, Vienna and a performance by Camp Quality Ambassador Casey Donavon.
Across two years of Camp In, over $65,000 was raised by ALDI employees and customers. The 2020 and 2021 campaigns combined, contributed more than $500,000 to help Camp Quality continue to support kids and their families facing cancer with services and programs in hospital, at school, at home and away from it all, in particular their Kids' Camps.
