ALDI Australia partners with Camp Quality to support kids impacted by cancer
ALDI Australia is proud to announce its three-year partnership with Camp Quality by committing to $1.5 million in donations and on-going fundraising support for children impacted by cancer.
Camp Quality provides services and programs to help children aged 0-13 cope with the daily ups and downs of dealing with cancer, whether it be their own diagnosis, their siblings or a parent. Its most popular programs include kids’ camps, family experiences and the school puppet program. With the motto “laughter is the best medicine”, Camp Quality creates opportunities for kids facing cancer to laugh, make new friends and have an adventure.
ALDI looks forward to supporting Camp Quality over the coming years, creating positive experiences and happy memories for children and their families, doing it tough because of cancer.
Deborah Thomas, Camp Quality CEO, says the partnership is the start of an important friendship for the children’s cancer charity, and on behalf of the kids, families, board, staff, volunteers and supporters, warmly welcomes ALDI into the Camp Quality family.
“Partnering with ALDI Australia means vital support to help Camp Quality provide kids’ camps free of charge for Australian kids impacted by cancer,” said Ms Thomas. “These crucial kids’ camps give children, whose lives have been consumed by cancer, the chance to make friends, have fun and enjoy activities that challenge and empower them in a medically safe and supportive environment.”
“Camp Quality and ALDI Australia are a great fit. ALDI Australia is a family and community orientated company that reflects and shares Camp Quality’s commitment to help reconnect Australian families in metro, rural and regional areas with simple, fun experiences that provide a break from the stresses and anxiety of cancer.”
ALDI’s partnership also sees the retailer contribute to the charity with a yearly cash donation, employee volunteering programs and proceeds from products sales, which will raise awareness for Camp Quality among their customers.
ALDI Australia’s CEO, Tom Daunt, said, “We are extremely proud to be supporting Camp Quality, to ensure Australian kids impacted by cancer have the opportunity to have those fun and adventurous experiences that every child deserves.”
“Our entire business looks forward to working in partnership with Camp Quality to raise funds that will go toward creating memorable experiences for kids impacted by cancer. From next month, our employees will be wearing Camp Quality badges to kick off our first Camp Quality fundraising campaign.”
Camp Quality’s mascot Giggle made the partnership official by going to meet ALDI Australia employees at the ALDI Darlinghurst store.
Supporting Camp In
Proudly supported by ALDI, Camp Quality Camp In is a fun all-ages event to support kids facing cancer.
Sign up and on Saturday June 12 sleep away from your bed by pitching a tent in your living room, backyard or outdoors with friends and family, to show support for kids facing cancer.
Campers will have front row access to Camp In Live, a jam packed evening of entertainment hosted by comedian Nazeem Hussain. Live streamed on Facebook, IGTV and YouTube from 6pm AEST on June 12, campers can create pizza and salad with 2020 Masterchef Kids contestant, Vienna as she hosts an ALDI Cooking Class, as well as enjoy a LEGO building workshop and performance by Casey Donovan.
In 2020, over $50,000 was raised by ALDI employees and customers, with the whole campaign contributing more than $300,000 to help Camp Quality continue to support kids and their families facing cancer with services and programs in hospital, at school, at home and away from it all, in particular their Kids' Camps.
